FC Barcelona have got a player with huge potential in Joao Felix. While the Portuguese forward has struggled to make himself prominent ever since his move to Atletico Madrid four years ago, his move to Barcelona can turn out differently as Xavi adopts a more attacking style than Diego Simeone.

The player himself believes that he can turn around his fortunes at Barcelona, and thus the Catalan club was the main preference for him this summer.

He openly confessed his liking for the Blaugrana club even when he was at Atletico, and has also given a significant economic sacrifice to be able to play with the Catalans.

Felix’s salary set by La Liga

It was previously reported that Felix will be earning only €400,000 net throughout his stay at Barcelona. This sum is significantly below what other players of his quality are currently earning, showcasing Felix’s commitment to the Catalan club.

The difference between what Felix deserves to earn and his current salary with Barcelona is also clear from the valuation set by La Liga. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, La Liga’s Economic Control has set the amount that Joao Felix will have to earn at Barcelona at €8 million gross (€4 million net).

This amount has been set after consultation with a Valuation Committee and comes after Barcelona had presented a salary proposal of €800,000 (€400,000) for the Portuguese.

Factors taken into account

This salary has been set by La Liga in accordance with Felix’s prior salary at Atletico Madrid and a number of other factors associated with the player.

For instance, the cost of acquiring the player, his release clause, his age, the situation of the market, the duration of his contract, and his loan contract have all been taken into consideration by La Liga in setting this salary.

A number of other variables have also been taken into consideration by La Liga, including the number of appearances in the current and last season, individual awards won, number of international trophies won during the last four years, etc.
