As more and more players see their contractual situations come to a head, FC Barcelona have managed to secure a gem of their own for the future. As per the ever-reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have managed to tie down La Masia gem Aleix Garrido to a new long-term deal that sees him stay with the club until June 2025. His previous contract was set to expire in June 2023, so Barcelona needed to act in accordance and finalize his renewal as soon as possible.
A 3-year contract at the face of it, the 19-year-old born in 2004 will also have a €400 million release clause added into his contract, showcasing exactly the intent of FC Barcelona to secure the La Masia product beyond any possibilities of other clubs wanting to acquire his services. There also seems to be an indication that the club intends on renewing even beyond 2025 at some point.
The Barcelona Atletic midfielder currently captains the side and is arguably their most prized possession in midfield.
