As more and more players see their contractual situations come to a head, FC Barcelona have managed to secure a gem of their own for the future. While there are some contracts that certainly require a rework, and there are also players from La Masia who have not agreed to renew their contracts, this one, in particular, carries both great news and positive future substance.

While FC Barcelona have been unable to tie down the talented likes of Ilias Akhomach and Victor Barbera, they have managed to secure the services of a very talented and prodigious midfielder, who remains quite highly rated within the realms of the club and the Barca academy.

As per the ever-reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have managed to tie down La Masia gem Aleix Garrido to a new long-term deal that sees him stay with the club until June 2025. His previous contract was set to expire in June 2023, so Barcelona needed to act in accordance and finalize his renewal as soon as possible.

A 3-year contract at the face of it, the 19-year-old born in 2004 will also have a €400 million release clause added into his contract, showcasing exactly the intent of FC Barcelona to secure the La Masia product beyond any possibilities of other clubs wanting to acquire his services. There also seems to be an indication that the club intends on renewing even beyond 2025 at some point.

The Barcelona Atletic midfielder currently captains the side and is arguably their most prized possession in midfield. With regular call-ups to the first team by Xavi Hernandez, as well as direct praise from the first team manager, the player has all the potential within himself and the trust of those within FC Barcelona to achieve great things with the club in the not-so-distant future.
