Youth talents tend to have more than just the objectives of achieving greatness at FC Barcelona, as their aspirations also reach their national teams. These young developing talents aim to one day all represent their respective national teams, regardless of whether they exist within Europe or across the globe.
Marc Guiu Paz, the representative and current player of Barcelona Juvenile B, has just recently been given his first initial taste of international football, and he has savored it convincingly. Scoring twice in Spain U-17 side’s 2-1 come-back victory over the Italy U-17 side in the ongoing Under 17 European Championship for which he was called upon to represent his country.
Courtesy of this win over the Azzurri side, the player has managed to shine through and has snatched the spotlight that he so thoroughly deserves.
Moreover, this is not the first time that the 17-year-old has impressed under Julen Guerrero for the Spanish side, as in the qualifying stages of the very same tournament, it was courtesy of another brace by the youngster from Sant Celoni that helped the Spaniards win a 4-3 game over Germany’s Under 17s that would prove to be vital in Spain’s progression through the competition.
Even at the club level, the player has a long and devoted history. Arriving from PB Sant Celoni 10 years ago, he has since progressed through multiple youth stages of FC Barcelona and now currently plays for the Juvenile B side as a mainstay.
The player has also simultaneously received chances with the senior Juvenile A side as well on various occasions, and he has ensured he takes full advantage of them.
In the UEFA Youth League, the player managed to also score and showcase his ever-evolving talent across the 120 minutes he has been allowed thus far in the tournament. His singular goal came against the Under 19s of Inter Milan in a 6-1 victory for La Blaugrana.
Should he maintain this astronomical progression and rise to acclaim, it would not be surprising to possibly see him availing himself an opportunity to represent FC Barcelona first time as well under the guidance and tutelage of Xavi Hernandez, who himself remains one of La Masia’s greatest ever graduates.
