There are only a few days left in the summer transfer window, and football clubs across Europe, including FC Barcelona, have completed most of their transfer dealings. However, this business is still not completely concluded yet and will go down till the last seconds of the transfer window.
At Barcelona, there is the signing of Joao Cancelo to be completed officially yet. This is also not the only operation the club is currently working on, as they also have to offload several players in the coming days.
Laporta claims Barcelona can make multiple signings
Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, recently spoke to the media and gave an update on the situation of the club. Naturally, the subject of signings and transfers was also brought up in the talk, and Laporta had some interesting comments to make.
One of the questions put to the Barcelona President was whether the Catalan club is going to make any more signings in the remaining days of the transfer window. To this, the President replied: “We will have enough margin to incorporate, there will be MORE than one.”
Other than Cancelo, Joao Felix is the only player with whom Barcelona are strongly linked in the last few days. Laporta’s comments thus can be a precursor of the Portuguese forward’s arrival at Barcelona, but nothing is certain for now.
Barcelona need funds for the registration of players
Laporta’s comments, while highly encouraging and optimistic, leave a lot of room for speculation. Previously, it was thought that the club would have to offload several players, with the ones on the list of potential sale being Lenglet, Fati, and Abde.
Furthermore, the club is also expected to obtain money from the German Libero Fund, as a part of its latest financial lever. Money from these sources will help the club register the players who are still unregistered, including Inigo Martinez and Inaki Pena.
