The economic downfall of FC Barcelona is a well-documented reality at this point in time. Long gone are the days when the Catalan giants could pursue the biggest names in football and show up as their biggest bidders to ensure that those stars become the latest additions in an already star-studded Barcelona lineup.

However, this massive hurdle has not been a dead end for Barcelona in terms of their competitive integrity. The Catalan giants continue to fight for every title that they find themselves in contention for by coming up with more adaptive ways of bringing on top talents.

Low-cost transfers and free agents have been the primary source that Barcelona have looked to depend upon in recent summers, particularly since Xavi Hernandez has taken over the reins at FC Barcelona.

The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, Hector Bellerin and even Marcos Alonso have all been free arrivals at Barca.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, should the Catalan giants hope to continue this trend of relying on free agents to reinforce their team, they could be looking at a decent-sized pool of players to choose from in terms of recruitment plans in the summer transfer window of 2024.

As highlighted by the Spanish source, the long list of players that will be free agents by next summer includes several players from various leagues.

From La Liga, the following players’ current contracts will expire at the end of the 2023/24 season if they decide not to renew their contracts with their respective clubs.

Other players from across Europe are also highlighted by SPORT as potential Barcelona targets upon becoming free agents next summer. These players come from various leagues across the continent which include countries such as England, France, Italy, Portugal, and Germany.
