Dani Olmo is one of the names that FC Barcelona have on their radar to reinforce their forward line for the next season. Nico Williams is undoubtedly the favorite candidate of the Catalans for this purpose, but there are other players on their list, including the La Masia graduate.

Furthermore, the Blaugranes are also looking to incorporate a midfield pivot in the team, as this is one of their biggest weak areas. For this purpose, the Catalans also have several players on their list, including Mikel Merino and Joshua Kimmich.

It is clear that to get Joshua Kimmich, Barcelona will have to get into negotiations with Bayern Munich, as the midfielder has only one year left on his contract. Unless he agrees to another contract, the Bavarians would not mind too much to part ways with him this summer to avoid losing him for free next year.

However, as SPORT has reported, one of the Bayern Munich legends, Lothar Matthaus, has asked his club to make a push for another Barcelona target, i.e., Dani Olmo. In one of his columns, the former Bayern player had some clear recommendations for the Bavarians:

“If there are players like Dani Olmo or Xavi Simons on the market, we have to consider them, even if they might not come because FC Bayern doesn’t have such a large squad or as much money.”

Similarly, the former midfielder also suggested Bayern to ensure the continuity of Joshua Kimmich in their team:

“I imagine Joshua Kimmich as a number six, something he wasn’t under Tuchel. The only question is where Bayern plans to use him and if they plan to use him at all. If I see players like Müller or Neuer leaving in the future, I would personally do everything possible to retain Kimmich.”

Both of these suggestions can go against the interests of Barcelona, as the Catalans themselves are looking to incorporate these players into their squad. But with Mikel Merino and Nico Williams the main candidates for the Blaugranes, missing out on Kimmich or Dani Olmo might not hurt them too much.
