FC Barcelona have several operations currently ongoing within the summer transfer market in order to create a clear plan of action in light of the sudden and unexpected departure of French winger Ousmane Dembele.
The Catalans of Barcelona, albeit motivated to upgrade the squad, are well aware of their financial concerns and economic limitations. As a result, they continue to proceed with caution in the market.
One of their top primary targets to reinforce the side remains Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva. One of Xavi’s greatest desires to bring to Catalonia, the operation is expected to be a difficult ordeal to complete.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the Manchester City player would be willing to help take extreme measures and force his way out if things become too complicated for Barcelona from the way of his current club.
The report suggests that both Barcelona and his agent Jorge Mendes, who Laporta maintains a good relationship with, are of the belief that the 28-year-old Portuguese star would very much be willing to help Barcelona out.
However, the primary reason behind Barcelona’s reluctance to make a request for Bernardo to take extreme measures is the current inability of Barcelona to register him at the club even if he does manage to convince Manchester City.
As a result, while Barcelona do appreciate the willingness of Bernardo Silva to help the Catalan club, they will only enter a possible bid for the Portuguese star once they have the financial means to do so.
The recent rejection of his current club to bids from French outfit PSG have also caused Barcelona to be a bit skeptical, given that the second bid from the Parisian club exceeded the value of €75 million and was still not up to Manchester City’s demands.
At the moment, Barcelona focus on generating additional funds with the departures of surplus players so that they can pursue other targets that the Catalan club has set for the rest of the summer transfer market.
