Barcelona target Bernardo Silva

Man City wish to renew 28-year-old star and not negotiate with Barcelona – report

As was becoming a frequently visited topic for FC Barcelona, the transfer saga involving Manchester City star Bernardo Silva continues to rage on and new evolutions on the subject become public as per the latest reports.

In the most recent of developments, Barcelona had reportedly sent an official transfer proposal for the 28-year-old midfielder alongside his international and club teammate Joao Cancelo.

However, both proposals were rejected by Manchester City and the player’s own approach to convince Pep Guardiola into letting him leave for Barcelona was also speculated to have been unsuccessful

Now, according to the reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City continue to uphold their own stance that Bernardo Silva’s departure remains non-negotiable and they refuse to listen to any possible offers clubs may have for their midfield star.

Moreover, Romano reports, the English Premier League club remains adamant that they would instead wish to continue with Bernardo Silva wearing the Citizen blue colors as they look to send him a new contract renewal proposal sooner rather than later.

The journalist also elaborates that the decision of the 28-year-old in terms of accepting the said proposal is still up to the player and it is yet to be seen how that develops once the Barcelona target has received the renewal proposal by City.

As time passes, so does pessimism grow within the offices of Barcelona regarding this operation as the Catalan club is simultaneously also aware of other market opportunists, namely those of Joao Felix and former Barcelona hero Neymar Jr.
