Within the targets that FC Barcelona continue to monitor, there is one in particular that is already claimed to be a future world star. A particular young Brazilian forward who has a knack for scoring goals and possesses a particular “predator-like” instinct within his game.

Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque is already a superstar in the realms of Brazilian football, and the 18-year-old continues to astound those around the world with his spectacular displays. With 13 goals and 3 assists across all competitions in 24 games for club and country, the player is currently enjoying a fantastic season.

While Barcelona continues to monitor his progression and find a formula that would allow them to make the currently difficult transfer a more feasible possibility, the player has garnered significant praise from Brazilian legend and current Athletico Paranaense teammate, Fernandinho.

A 5-time Premier League winner with Manchester City under ex-Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola and a Copa America winner with the Brazilian National team, a side he has captained on multiple occasions, the now 38-year-old defensive midfielder is a real example of Brazilian excellence for the youngsters around him.

The veteran recently went on to shower Vitor Roque with praise following the youngster’s inspiring performance in their 2-1 victory over Flamengo in the domestic league. The former Manchester City man had the following to say about the 18-year-old:

Vitor Roque has a bright future. I’m sure his natural path will be to stand out in international and world football… For us, it is a great pleasure to be able to play with him because he is already standing out in Brazilian and South American football.

The youngster continues to attract attention from all over Europe, and consequently, his current club Athletico Paranaense has reportedly valued him above and beyond €35-40 million. For now, the price remains a bit too far-fetched for FC Barcelona, but it remains to be seen if a more feasible agreement can be reached.
