There are many youngsters at FC Barcelona who strive to make their own impact. La Blaugrana is home to many talented footballers and continues to develop even more. However, certain players definitely do tend to stand out from even the rest of the elite.

One such starlet within Barcelona is 17-year-old striker Marc Guiu. Known for his exceptional strength and forward-like traits despite his tender age, the player already has an immortalized moment recorded in history for the Barcelona first team.

In the La Liga game against Athletic Bilbao this season, it was Guiu who won all three points for Barcelona. After being substituted into the field near the 80th-minute mark, Guiu did not take long to leave his mark. Within 33 seconds, the young striker broke the deadlock and scored the only goal of the game.

With that goal, he is now Barcelona’s fastest-ever scorer on their debut. Since then, he has gained more prominence and Xavi Hernandez sees him as a great addition to the first team in the long run. However, he is currently away with Spain and has managed to make the news yet again.

Currently in Indonesia, Guiu is representing Spain in the Under-17 FIFA World Cup. In their very first game of the tournament against Canada in the Group Stage, Marc Guiu managed to score the opener. In his celebration, as highlighted by SPORT, he paid tribute to one of his mentors and teammates.

Putting his fists together in front of his chest with elbows leaning out, Guiu made a direct reference to Barcelona ace Robert Lewandowski. The former Bayern Munich star uses this particular celebration as his primary expression after scoring goals.

For Guiu, Lewandowski would have arguably been a great influence and role model. The Polish striker was amongst those that celebrated the hardest after Guiu scored for Barcelona against Athletic Bilbao.

Despite his own goal-scoring drought, Lewandowski remains an icon of the game. Many youngsters undoubtedly look up to him and Marc Guiu may easily be one of them. With one match down, Guiu and Spain have three more games to play in Group B.
