The director of football at FC Barcelona, Mateu Alemany, made some exciting comments during an interview with Dazn ahead of the club’s 29th league match vs Getafe on Sunday. Alemany seemed hopeful and passionate about the future of young Spanish sensation Gavi amidst all the contract complications.

The rumors of Chelsea’s interest in Blagurana’s rising star have stirred up an air of uncertainty among the Camp Nou faithful. However, the club’s executive has made a bold statement to calm the unease, “Gavi renewed for four seasons, he has three more seasons with us and he will fulfill them for sure. We are convinced not only that he will fulfill them, but exceed them, the fans and us want him to finish his career at FC Barcelona.

Barcelona’s midfield star is stuck in limbo, unable to officially join the first team due to the club’s financial restraints. Despite agreeing to a new deal with the Blaugrana, the league authorities have slammed the door shut, leaving the club unable to register the player with the first team.

Alemany continued, “We are at peace and hopeful of sorting this matter out, everything is settled from our end.” Despite Chelsea’s continued interest and the attraction value of Premier League football, Xavi is hopeful that Gavi will march on with Barcelona and will have an impactful role next season.

Will the midfield gem don the garnet and blue next season or will a potential switch to England be too lucrative to ignore? Only time will tell!
