The Atletico Madrid man gave an interview in July in which he expressed his admiration for FC Barcelona, and ever since this interview, he has been strongly linked with the Blaugranes.
Felix getting closer to Barcelona
Diario AS reports that Joao Felix has been getting closer to FC Barcelona for the last month, ever since his interview. The Catalans are aiming to get the Portuguese attacker on a loan with a purchase option, and Atletico Madrid wants around €15 million in terms of loan fee.
However, this figure is expected to get lowered as the transfer window reaches its end, as only Al-Hilal were willing to offer such a high fee, and they have already signed Neymar now. As Atletico Madrid want to offload the player this summer, they will reduce their valuation of Felix with only a few days left in this transfer window.
Administrative changes at Barcelona will also facilitate a move for the Portuguese youngster. Mateu Alemany is going to leave Barcelona and Deco is going to be in charge of football-related matters at the Catalan club.
Alemany was not too keen to bring Felix to Barcelona, but the case with Deco is the opposite, as he admires the Atletico Madrid star, just as Joan Laporta also does.
While Xavi was reported to be not too keen to get Felix previously, he is also warming up to this idea since the departure of Ousmane Dembele and the potential exit of Ansu Fati.
