While FC Barcelona are not expected to undertake a lot of transfer business in the upcoming winter window, the club’s fans still have all the reasons to get excited for the January window.

The main reason for this excitement is the almost sure arrival of Vitor Roque, whose arrival is expected to provide Barcelona’s attack with a much-needed boost of energy.

The Catalans have not been performing up to the expected level at the offensive end, and Vitor Roque’s arrival will provide Xavi with another deadly weapon up front.

His skill at the forefront of the attack has been established beyond any doubt with his last season at Athletico Paranaense. Roque scored 21 goals and gave 8 assists in 45 games this season, and was inarguably the deadliest of forwards playing in Brazil.

The Brazilian has not yet arrived at Barcelona, but it is already becoming clear that the Catalans undertook a good piece of business with his signing, at least from an economic point of view.

This is apparent from a report by Mundo Deportivo, which notes how the market value of the player has increased in the last several months.

The report mentions that the player’s value at the Transfermarkt portal in December 2022 stood at €11 million. Barcelona paid €30 million fixed and promised another €31 million in variables when they signed the Brazilian on July 12th this year.

Now, with their latest update, the Brazilian’s value has increased from €18 million to €40 million, thus exceeding the fixed transfer fee that Barcelona paid for him.

With this valuation, Vitor Roque has only ten players in Barcelona with a market value higher than him. Furthermore, he has already surpassed the market value of the current starting Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski, who is valued at €30 million by the Transfermarkt portal.
