It seems that it is finally time for some changes within FC Barcelona. Now in 2024, the Catalan giants are set to take part in various different competitions. While Barcelona have not been too convincing thus far this season, they have time to turn things around.
They now have opportunities across three different competitions in January to make things right. La Liga offers its usual competition, but now so do the Copa Del Ray and the Spanish Super Cup. As a result of this tight schedule, rotations become a necessity.
However, even necessity can sometimes lead to clubs finding solutions. In the upcoming game against Barbastro in the Copa Del Ray, for instance, Barcelona are reportedly going to make many rotations. While there are many major changes, one in particular stands out.
According to both AS and other recent updates, Vitor Roque is set to start for Barcelona against Barbastro. This would be his first ever start for the Catalan giants, having just arrived recently in Spain.
He previously featured in the final minutes against UD Las Palmas and showcased some promising quality. However, a full blown start over the likes of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski could showcase a lot more of what Roque is actually capable of.
Moreover, a game against an opponent with notably less quality than most First Division teams should allow Roque to get a feel of Spanish football properly. This could also provide the player with the right confidence to carry his season forward with Barça.
The jump to European football can often be intimidating for new players, but Roque seems different. Hungry to succeed at his dream club, Barcelona are more than happy to have the Brazilian striker with them. Moreover, he remains just as motivated to provide them with goals and victories.
