With the arrivals of players at FC Barcelona beginning to pile up, the Catalans have not forgotten their other objective to offload players that the club no longer believes are vital for their progression in the future and are not in the manager’s plans either.
However, simply being aware of the objective does not solve the primary issue itself. Factors such as a lack of suitors or the player’s own desire to not leave are among the several different reasons that may result in the club being unable to offload certain players.
In recent weeks, the case of Franck Kessie has bigger to develop, however. Initially, speculation suggested that the Ivorian midfielder was finally open to the idea of departing from Barcelona and setting his sights on a new journey.
Then came reports of interest from Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal being the primary suitors for the 26-year-old former AC Milan midfielder.
Now, as has been reported by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Al-Hilal is joined by yet another Saudi Arabian club who have developed an interest in the Barcelona midfielder.
The club in question is Middle Eastern side Al-Nassr, who quite famously managed to whisk away Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo as well as recent Barcelona target Marcelo Brozovic over to Saudi Arabia. With their eyes now set on Franck Kessie, there could be a reason to believe in a potential super team in the making.
Financial differences still exist between the concerned parties though, as Barcelona have demanded a €20 million fee for the services of Franck Kessie, while Al-Nassr is only willing to pay close to $15 million at the moment, which equates to less than €14 million.
It remains to be seen which way the Catalan club decides to take the transfer of Kessie, as offloading him remains a priority due to the lack of game time he will be receiving next season due to the arrival of Ilkay Gundogan and potentially even Oriol Romeu, making him surplus to requirements.
