It is no secret that FC Barcelona are open to letting go of certain players to help their financial situation. The Catalan club is not exactly in a position to make new signings without some repercussions right now. However, for Barcelona to have that ability again, departures are considered a must.
Yet, the problem seems to lie in the fact that several operations are still pending and are yet to find a positive conclusion. La Blaugrana reportedly even have the names of three players highlighted who they wish to see out exits for during this transfer window. Unfortunately, all of those operations continue to be a nuisance to sort out.
Now, however, Mundo Deportivo has revealed that a certain English Premier League outfit would be more than willing to take a specific Barcelona forward away from Spain. That team would be none other than Newcastle United, and the player they reportedly have an eye on is Ferran Torres.
The 24-year-old Spanish forward, formerly from Manchester City, is reportedly a player that Newcastle United view positively. Due to the player already having Premier League experience and having shown good displays with his National team, the English outfit have him on their shortlist for forwards.
Moreover, MD states that the Premier League club would be open to preparing an attractive offer for the Spaniard to lure him back to England. This would be beneficial to Barça as well, given that they do not exactly consider Torres to be a guaranteed starter throughout the season.
However, the main obstacle in the way of such a move would be the player himself. Ferran Torres reportedly wants to stay at FC Barcelona and wants to continue playing for the Catalan giants. Moreover, given that he is now at home in Spain, he does not exactly hope to move away anytime soon.
Whatever the final outcome ends up being, both Barça and Newcastle want it finalized quickly. That is because neither team wants to leave little time afterwards in the transfer window as they want to aim for other operations in terms of both arrivals and departures as well.
Interestingly, however, this is not the first time Newcastle United have reportedly been interested in a Barcelona player. Previously, even Danish defender Andreas Christensen was reportedly linked to a move back to England if the Premier League outfit made a clear enough move for him.
