In a recent turn of events, Barcelona could be looking at quite an abundance of transfer operations beginning to line up all of a sudden. With the finalizations of a few arrivals, it seems that potentially more are to follow in the coming weeks ahead.
With even Pep Guardiola confirming the serious interest of Barcelona in Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan, it would appear that FC Barcelona are now looking ahead to ensuring further departures and perhaps bring in further arrivals to the club in order to reinforce their squad for the upcoming 2023/2024 season.
As per the latest transfer updates provided by Catalan journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona and Newcastle United have once again entered talks related to Brazilian winger Raphinha and what a possible transfer proposition could look like for him to depart back to the English Premier League.
According to the provided information, Romero states that Newcastle have offered Barcelona €30 million alongside the talents of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who operates mainly as a central or defensive midfielder, in exchange for Barcelona’s 26-year-old winger heading the other way to “the Toon”.
In terms of market value, both Brazilians currently possess a valuation of exactly €60 million according to Transfermarkt. Keeping that in mind, Barcelona are surely the economic beneficiaries should such a deal end up taking place.
Moreover, Barcelona are currently also in the market for a top-level defensive midfielder, something that Guimaraes could provide on a sporting level due to his expertise in said position. It remains to be seen how much truth this report holds within it, but in the scenario that Barcelona have indeed received such an offer for Raphinha, it would potentially be one that the Catalan club surely assesses.
