Without a doubt, FC Barcelona is one of Europe’s most exciting teams to watch this season. Their goalscoring ability remains second to none and the team’s overall way of playing is quite exciting as well. Moreover, beyond just the style, Barcelona has also managed to produce results.

Now back at the top of the La Liga table after winning against Rayo Vallecano, La Blaugrana remain determined to continue improving. However, any kind of improvement for Barcelona extends beyond just this ongoing season as well.

It also includes preparing the club for the future, and the Catalan outfit has already taken some steps to ensure exactly that. By prioritizing key renewals over signings for now, Barça have managed to tie down some vital players for the years to come.

However, in terms of transfer targets for the future, one player that the club reportedly has in mind is Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old Swedish striker has been quite impactful for Premier League side Newcastle United, and also has prior experience when it comes to playing in La Liga as he previously represented Real Sociedad.

Unfortunately for Barcelona, however, a new report suggests that acquiring the player may not be easy. According to Mundo Deportivo, a source in England suggests that Newcastle United is not willing to let go of their key players in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Even if the side fails to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season, the English side has a good financial standing and is not required to let go of their key players. This includes the €75 million-rated Swedish striker who Barcelona reported want to sign.

However, while this news is not exactly the best kind of update for Barça, there is still time. With the ongoing season being the current priority for every team, things can easily change by the time that the summer window opens up and Barcelona could potentially look to dig deeper at that point.
