Several FC Barcelona players are lighting up the UEFA EURO 2024, and five of them have already secured a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. Meanwhile, the 2024 Copa America is also seeing other Barcelona players leading their teams to the knock-out rounds.

Two of the Blaugrana players are set to face one another in the upcoming match between Brazil and Uruguay, i.e., Raphinha and Ronald Araujo. The match is scheduled to take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Brazilian forward was asked how he is coping with the task of facing his Barcelona teammate in the upcoming match. The winger clarified his approach to this situation:

“We talk, but about things outside of football. We talk about family. We don’t talk about football, not at all. When I’m there (in Spain), I talk with Vini, with Rodrygo, but about life. I don’t like talking about football with opponents. The only thing we discuss is our families; we have a very good relationship.”

Despite having several stars in their ranks, Brazil have not exactly inspired confidence with their performances in the competition up to now. Raphinha also addressed the problems his team is facing:

“We changed the coach, many players, but that doesn’t change anything. We are the Brazilian National Team, and we will play a tough match for us and for them. We know Uruguay’s potential. Many people consider us done for, thinking that Uruguay will advance easily.”

The winger also previewed the upcoming match against Uruguay, who are one of the favorites to win the tournament:

“But in Uruguay, they don’t think that way because they know our potential, they know how hard we work. This match could be a Copa América final. It will be one of the toughest in general. What changes is the competition, but the team that will resolve the match will be the one that is better prepared.”

Without their star player, Vinicius Junior, Brazil will have a hard task getting the better of Uruguay to reach the Copa America semi-finals. But whichever of these teams wins, Barcelona fans will have at least one player in the semis to support.
