Following a lot of patience shown by the FC Barcelona fans on a particular matter, it appears that the patience in question is finally set to deem its reward. One of the brightest young talents within this FC Barcelona team is set to continue with La Blaugrana for many years to come.

The official website of FC Barcelona has confirmed that 19-year-old academy talent and current first-team star Alejandro Balde has renewed with Barca until 2028, extending his previous contract that was set to expire in June of next year.

The electric fullback came in as a miracle prospect for the Catalan giants out of their youth academy. Following the realization that Jordi Alba would not be able to play much longer for FC Barcelona, Balde’s arrival into the first team put the coaching staff as well as the management in unexpected ease.

Only 19 years old at the time of writing, the Spaniard has given much to Barcelona in the name of an offensive fullback that also has the recovering capabilities that allow him to be defensively sound. As such, his continuation within the team as one of European football’s most promising prospects will be key.

According to the official Barcelona statement, Balde will also have a release clause of €1 billion added into his new contract. A similar clause to the ones added into the contracts of other stars such as Pedri, Ronald Araujo, and Gavi.

Barcelona had an agreement in place regarding his new contract with Portuguese super agent, Jorge Mendes, since some time ago and only the official confirmation from the club was now left.

They also mention that the official presentation of his contract signing will take place on Thursday 21st September from 1.15 pm CEST at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

At the moment, Balde’s value set by Transfermarkt stands at roughly €50 million and it can only be expected to rise over the next few years that he is set to play in Barcelona given his massive potential and already cemented status as a first-team regular.
