The big game arrives for FC Barcelona as they welcome Atletico Madrid to the Montjuic. The Blaugranes continue to believe in their ability to turn their season around in a positive way, and the game against Porto was a good start. However, their latest challenge arrives in the form of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

A formidable opponent, Atletico currently have a game in hand over Barcelona. Moreover, they are also tied on points with Barça already. As such, it is imperative that Xavi’s men come away from this game with a positive result to their name.

With their opponents being in fine form, Barcelona are expected to go out with their strongest possible setup. Xavi has a huge task ahead of him, but the Spanish coach must steer Barcelona in the right direction both for the sake of their season as well as his own as coach of the club.

Ahead of the match, Barcelona have now released their official 20-man squad list. The notable absentees are Barcelona captain Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Gavi, and surprisingly Marcos Alonso. The Spaniard missed the recent training session due to reportedly some minor discomfort.

Diego Kochen and Ander Astralaga are present to provide backup to Inaki Pena, who will start for Barcelona against Simeone’s side. More or less, the squad list remains unchanged from the previous outing against FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League.
