After a victorious start to their 2024-25 league campaign, FC Barcelona return to action in La Liga tonight with a match against Athletic Club. The Catalans will be looking to get another win tonight to build up some margin upon their main league rivals, Real Madrid, who lost two points in their opening match against Mallorca.

Barcelona have announced the squad for this game, and the most notable player missing in this list is Ilkay Gundogan, who has returned to Manchester City after a very good one-year stint at the Blaugrana club.

Other players like Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, and Ansu Fati remain unavailable due to their physical issues. Andreas Christensen is now also in this list of injured players, as he suffered an injury and is expected to remain on the sidelines for 1-2 months.

The new signing, Dani Olmo, has been named in the squad with an asterisk next to his name, meaning he will play in this upcoming game only if he is registered with La Liga in time.
