After a dispiriting defeat to Osasuna in their last league match, FC Barcelona return to La Liga with a match against Deportivo Alavés. The Catalans were able to put things right in the midweek UEFA Champions League clash against BSC Young Boys, and will be looking to get another league win to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

This will also be the last game for the Blaugranes before the October international break starts. Thus, the Catalans will also be looking to get a win in this game to go into this break with high spirits.

Frenkie de Jong, who spent almost five months on the sidelines due to his ankle issues, was able to get some minutes in the game against Young Boys, and he is once in the squad announced by Barcelona for this game.
