FC Barcelona are set to kick-off their 2024-25 season with the La Liga game against Valencia tonight at the Mestalla. Cules everywhere in the world will be looking forward to this match as this is going to be Flick’s first official game in charge of the Barcelona team.

Naturally, the German tactician will be looking to start his journey in Spain with a victory, but this will be a significant challenge for him as Mestalla is never an easy destination for visiting teams. Furthermore, Flick will also be without some important players, including Ronald Araujo, Gavi, Ilkay Gundogan, Frenkie de Jong, and Ansu Fati, who are all missing this game due to injuries.

Moreover, the only Barcelona signing of this summer transfer window, Dani Olmo, has not yet been registered with La Liga. This is also the case with Clement Lenglet and Vitor Roque. Fermin Lopez has also not yet returned for club duties as he participated in both the UEFA EURO 2024 and the Paris Olympic Games. Thus, these players will also remain unavailable for this match.

However, there is also some good news for the Barcelona coach and fans. Pedri has returned from his injury and will be available for this game. Furthermore, Inigo Martinez has also been registered in time to play in this game, thus providing some much-needed relief to Flick in the defense.
