After having secured a place in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey, FC Barcelona now set their sights on defending the Spanish Super Cup title.

For this purpose, the Catalans will be traveling to Saudi Arabia, and begin the defence of their title against Osasuna on Thursday, 11th January.

As already reported here, the Spanish Super Cup is quite high on the Catalan club’s priority list, and both Xavi and Laporta are looking forward to win this title once again.

The President and the head-coach believe winning this title can boost the team’s morale, and push them to winning other important title, just as happened in the last season.

However, winning this cup will not be easy at all, as Barcelona will be competing with other Spanish heavy weights like Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Osasuna.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be vying for a place in the final, in which one of Barcelona or Osasuna will also advance.

The Catalans have published the 25-man squad list that will represent the club in this competition. Players like Inigo Martinez, Joao Cancelo, and Pedri have also been named in the list, despite them not getting a medical discharge.

Several players from the reserve team have also been added, including Casado, Kochen, Guiu, Cubarsi, and Fort.
