FC Barcelona return to the UEFA Champions League as they look to take on Atalanta. This time around, the Italian side will be visiting the Montjuic Stadium to take on the Catalan giants. While progression is not at stake for Barcelona, top spot might just be.

Either way, however, La Blaugrana have already secured their path to the Round of 16 already. Still, fighting for the top spot in the Champions League is still achievable, and Hansi Flick has ended up fielding a strong lineup to help end January on a positive note.

Here is the official starting eleven for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

In goal, as expected, will be Polish shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny. Hansi Flick has already had a change of heart in regards to the goalkeeping situation at Barcelona, and it seems that the Pole is now the German coach’s goalkeeper of choice between the sticks regardless of the competition.

The two centre-backs in front of him will be Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia. After having been rested against Valencia in the last game, the Uruguayan is now back to take his place alongside the Spaniard in the centre of the defense.

On either side of them, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde start as the two fullbacks on the left and right flank respectively. They will need to attack Atalanta on the flanks while also tracking back to help out the defensive line.

With Pedri now back, he also returns to the starting eleven and will be playing alongside Frenkie de Jong in the defensive midfield role. Both of them will be tasked with maintaining and controlling the tempo of the game while simultaneously showcasing their defensive and creative abilities.

Ahead of them, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha return to their duties on the wide flanks of the attack, whereas Gavi will be playing right behind the centre-forward as he looks to create chaos and disrupt the other team’s composure.

Up top, Robert Lewandowski returns to the starting eleven after starting from the bench against Valencia. He will be looking to get some goals for himself, however, as he hopes to retain his spot as the top scorer of the competition right now.
