FC Barcelona are just an hour or so away from facing off against FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League. With time now ticking down to an eagerly anticipated clash of European giants, La Blaugrana will need to make sure they are as prepared as they can be.

Tonight, Xavi Hernandez has the opportunity to truly test the mettle of his players against a true European contender. While there are absentees like Raphinha, Frenkie De Jong, and Pedri, Barcelona are equipped enough to be able to handle the challenge of their Portuguese rivals.

With the Estadio de Dragao awaiting its Catalan challengers, FC Barcelona have unveiled their official starting XI ahead of the game.

Goalkeeper

In goal starts German international and Barcelona captain, Marc Andre Ter Stegen. Dependable on and off the ball, his services will be heavily relied upon tonight and the German will need to ensure he plays at his best level to keep the threat of Porto at bay and ensure the best possible distribution to his teammates.

Defense

In defense, Ronald Araujo makes his return to the team as a starter once again and is paired up with French defender Jules Kounde. The duo will look to make Barcelona as impenetrable as possible while also ensuring the progression of the ball remains consistent.

The flanks of the defense are covered by Alejandro Balde and Joao Cancelo. The two fullbacks possess uniquely dynamic abilities to change the course of the game with both their raw quality and technical brilliance.

Midfield

The midfield remains more or less unchanged for Barcelona. Former Girona midfielder Oriol Romeu continues to look over the pivot position as the primary specialist within the team. Further up, German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan retains his place as one of the two interiors in the team while Gavi acts as the other central midfielder within the midfield.

Attack

The frontline for Barcelona is comprised of Polish ace Robert Lewandowski as the center forward. As the Polish striker looks to add more goal contributions to his tally, he will be joined by Joao Felix and Lamine Yamal to complete the frontline.
