FC Barcelona has always been a club where the most talented youngsters get their chance to shine. While it is true that competition will always be great at the club, those that manage to stand out end up enjoying great opportunities. However, earning those opportunities at a club like Barcelona is a massive hurdle of its own.
Yet, some players manage to overcome this hurdle and prevail in making themselves valuable assets for the club. Such players are appreciated and valued by the Catalan giants, and particularly due to their current financial situation, it becomes even more important to rely on the youth.
Last season, a certain young striker named Pau Victor managed to thoroughly impress with Barcelona Atletic while he was in the team led by Rafa Marquez, on loan from Girona. In fact, his goal-scoring tallies alone were enough to convince the club to permanently sign him this summer.
Since doing so, Barcelona have been paid back by the player through an impressive showing during the first team’s preseason tour. His goal tally was once again the highest among his peers and teammates, and it is clear to see why the club appreciates him so much.
Now, as revealed by the official Barcelona sources, the player has been rewarded with a new contract. The 22-year-old Spanish striker has now signed a deal with FC Barcelona that will see him stay as a part of the club until 2029, as per the details provided.
He signed this contract in the presence of club president Joan Laporta, sporting director Deco, and vice-president Rafa Yuste. His family was also present as the young striker put pen to paper on a deal that will be his first long-term contract with the Catalan giants.
Now wearing the number 18 for the team, it is expected that Pau Victor will be a great help for the first team this season. With Hansi Flick already having been impressed by the striker during the preseason tour of the United States of America, it was no surprise to see him make his official first team debut against Valencia in the club’s latest victory.
