After some much-awaited waiting, FC Barcelona have finally received their opponents for the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League Group Stages, as the Catalan giants will look to finally advance to a stage beyond what they have displayed in their previous outings.
During the UEFA Ceremony held in the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, FC Barcelona were drawn into Group H of the UEFA Champions League. Entered as the first team of Group H being from Pot 1, Barcelona were then greeted with their opponents.
The very first team after FC Barcelona to be entered into Group H was Portuguese side FC Porto, who were the chosen ones from Pot 2 to take part in the same group as Barca, a rather favorable draw considering the other sides that could have possibly been chosen.
The team after Porto to be drawn into Group H was Ukrainian side FC Shakhtar Donetsk, as the representative from Pot 3 to have been put into the same group as FC Barcelona and FC Porto. The team led by Patrick van Leeuwen will be one to keep an eye out on.
The fourth and final opponent for FC Barcelona in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League Group Stage is going to be Belgian side Royal Antwerp, finalizing La Blaugrana with Portuguese, Ukrainian, and Belgian opponents.
With this, the Catalan giants will be looking to go beyond their recent endeavors in the UEFA Champions League as they look to ensure progression through the group stages and reach the knockout stages of the competition for the first time since 2020/2021.
