FC Barcelona has had a few quite important changes that took place over the course of the summer transfer window. Many new faces arrived in terms of their squad and in the depth of players, as well as new changes took place at the highest level within the club’s offices.
Jordi Cruyff, the former Barcelona Sporting Director, stepped down from his position while Mateu Alemany, the club’s former Director of Football, also stepped down following the end of the summer transfer window as FC Barcelona now have a completely new structure to handle the operations at the Catalan club.
As revealed by the club’s official social media accounts, FC Barcelona have finally unveiled their new sporting structure through a graph that links the various responsibilities of each member of the new Barcelona office.
Notable arrivals include former Barcelona players Deco and Bojan Krkic in integral roles within the new Barcelona structure. The graph itself indicates how each position is linked to another as well as showcasing an entirely separate section of the club’s “Sports Commission”.
As he has been since 2021, Joan Laporta remains the President of FC Barcelona and he is directly senior to the Sporting Vice President of the club, Rafa Yuste.
His other direct connection will be with the Sports Commission, which has 6 members highlighted by the chart including Laporta himself, Rafa Yuste, Joan Soler, Deco, Enric Masip, and Bojan Krkic.
Directly under the Vice President will be the new Director of Football, Deco, who will have senior authority over the footballing structure of the club and his subordinates under him will include the likes of Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez, Football coordinator Bojan Krkic, Youth Football head JR Alesanco, Scouting head Pablo Araujo and lastly the Managerial Director, Franc Carbo.
With all these names and roles now defined by FC Barcelona officially, it becomes clear what the structure is within the club moving forward with this newly assembled team of professionals hoping to take Barca to the epitome of football where it always belonged and hopes to return to.
