With the summer transfer window having officially closed, FC Barcelona are now fully focused on the season ahead. The squad for this season has already been finalized, and now the club has finalized the outfit of the squad as well.
FC Barcelona’s first kit is almost always in the blue and garnet color scheme, as these are the colors traditionally associated with the Catalan club. This season is no different in this regard, as the colors will remain the same, but with a diamond pattern along the edges of the stripes.
Barcelona unveil their third kit
Now, the club has officially announced and unveiled its third kit for the 2023-24 season as well, which is in another classic Barcelona color, turquoise. There are also parts of the kit in red and royal blue, with both the sleeves having a red and a blue border each.
On this turquoise background, there is the Barcelona club logo, the logo of the Barcelona sponsors, Spotify, and the logo of the makers of the shirt, Nike, all in black.
This third kit for the 2023-24 season will bring back memories of the 1996-97 and 2019-20 Barcelona teams, as they also wore a similar color. Thus, this color has already been donned by legendary players like Ronaldo Nazario and Lionel Messi.
Barcelona faced criticism for their second kit color choice
While this third kit and the first kit are in traditional Barcelona colors, the club decided to get innovative with its second kit, as it chose white as its color. The Catalans had to face some criticism for this choice of color for their second kit, especially as white is usually associated with Barcelona’s arch-rivals, Real Madrid.
However, white kits have also been worn by Blaugrana legends like Johan Cruyff, as President Laporta clarified in a media appearance. He also further explained the choice of the colour as this was something new for Barcelona fans, and thus could become a hit in the stores.
