FC Barcelona and the entirety of the football world is now waiting for a certain conclusion. The final of the European Championship is gradually coming closer and closer, and there is a lot of excitement. Moreover, certain Barcelona stars are also participating in said final taking place in Germany.

However, from among those handful of players, most eyes will be on Lamine Yamal, without a doubt. The 16-year-old Barcelona prodigy is now a record-holder in the competition as well, after having made history against France in the semi-final of the prestigious continental tournament.

Unlike the build-up to the last game, however, it appears that Yamal’s opponents will take a different route this time. Frenchman Adrien Rabiot got a bad response to his words that were designed to intimidate Yamal, but that is why his next opponents are using a different strategy it seems.

As highlighted by Barca Buzz, 28-year-old English forward Ollie Watkins has recently spoken highly about the Barcelona prodigy in the build-up to the encounter against Spain and has given him a lot of praise, even suggesting he is much better than the Aston Villa forward was at his age:

“Lamine Yamal? He’s an unbelievable talent, generational, everyone has seen what he can do. It’s not often that you score goals against France in the semi’s of the Euros. Obviously, he’s got the world at his feet and he’s miles ahead of me when I was 16-17.”

Watkins himself was the hero for England who sent his country to this upcoming final. His stoppage time goal ensured that the English overcame their Dutch opponents and now get to face off against the Spaniards in the final of the European Championship.

Despite this, he seems to be aware of the fact that the young Spanish winger is something truly special for his age. Thus, it was not hard for him to admit that the youngster is truly on another level as compared to himself during his teenage years.

Many of the Barcelona players, including the likes of Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Fermin Lopez, will be raring to go against England. This is their chance to bring glory to their nation, and whether the opposition throws praise or intimidation towards their way, those players remain devoted to their badge and the effort they will put in.
