This is going to be a highly exciting day at FC Barcelona as the Blaugranes are set to travel to Madrid to take on their fiercest rivals, Real Madrid, on Saturday for a La Liga tie.

One of the activities of the Barcelona coach Hansi Flick for today included addressing the customary press conference ahead of this game.

The German coach appeared before the microphones and answered several questions from the journalists. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, one of the subjects that he touched upon at this event was the young defender Pau Cubarsi.

The former Bayern Munich coach highlighted the defender’s hunger to keep improving and his hard work on this occasion:

“It’s great to see how he plays. Everything depends on him; what he’s doing shows he always has that hunger to improve and train hard. He gives his all for the club and is undoubtedly on an extraordinary path. All the players are on the right track.”

Pau Cubarsi has built up on the breakout season he had last year, as he continues to remain an important part of the Barcelona squad this season, especially in the absence of more experienced defenders like Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen.

Flick has shown full confidence in the 17-year-old center-back, as he has played in all 13 games up to now, starting 12 of them and coming on from the bench in another game against Villarreal. Furthermore, Cubarsi has accumulated one assist in these games.

But it is his maturity and fearlessness when facing some of the most dangerous attackers in Spain and Europe at such a young age that has made the defender truly stand out.

Flick clarified that his development is going on an extraordinary path, and hopefully, he will be able to keep growing under the German coach.
