FC Barcelona players had to leave for the Christmas holidays in a rather sorry fashion as their miserable last two months were capped off with a defeat to Atletico Madrid, which also caused them to lose their top position in the La Liga table.

Hansi Flick will be hoping that the players will return from these holidays in a better state of mind, and will get over this poor run of form as they return to action in 2025.

However, one player who has not even left for these holidays is Ansu Fati, who asked the club to continue using their facilities during the holidays.

According to Mundo Deportivo, he undertook one of these training sessions last Monday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, and is expected to undertake two more sessions on the 27th and 28th of December, i.e., the last two days of the vacations given to the squad by Hansi Flick.

During this time, Barcelona have provided the player with a team of professionals which includes physical trainers, physiotherapists, and doctors, to ensure he takes maximum benefit of these training sessions.

As has been the case for most part of his career, Ansu Fati has once again been riddled with injuries this season. An injury to the sole of his foot kept him from taking advantage of the pre-season tour of the USA and then he was once again injured in November while sprinting at the end of a training session.

He received the medical green light only for the match against Atletico Madrid last Saturday but was unable to participate in this game because of the high intensity of the match.

For now, he is looking to take advantage of the holidays to get a mini-preseason and improve his physical level ahead of potential opportunities to play in Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
