FC Barcelona have already made a number of acquisitions this summer, and now their focus has turned to sales. Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, Vitor Roque, and Oriol Romeu have all been signed by the Catalan club, and now the club will try to offload fringe players.
According to Mundo Deportivo, offloading players surplus to requirements in the coming weeks is essential for Barcelona to comply with the financial fair play rules.
Unless the club can shed some of these wages, it would be impossible to think of any more new singing, as the registration of players who already have signed can also be jeopardized. In addition to the new signing, the new contracts of six existing players also have to be registered.
In such a context, it is becoming increasingly important that Barcelona collect at least a part of the €60 million that was deferred from the sale of the third and fourth levers, i.e. Socios.com and Orpheus Media by Barca Studios.
Furthermore, if Barcelona are to sign one of their long-sought targets, Bernardo Silva, they will have to make at least one big sale. The most likely candidate for such a sale is the Brazilian Raphinha, who has the most demand in the current market. He has received interest from Saudi Arabia, while Manchester City have also shortlisted him as a candidate to replace Riyad Mahrez.
However, the Brazilian has always expressed a desire to continue playing at Barcelona, and Xavi would also like to have him in his squad. Kessie is another footballer who can be sold for big bucks, but he also intends to remain at Barcelona.
Another option that the Catalan club can pursue instead of Bernardo Silva is another Portuguese player, Joao Felix. Felix recently expressed his dream to play for Barcelona one day, and his agent, Jorge Mendes, is working to convince Laporta to make a move for him.
However, his price is too high for Barcelona, and unless Ferran Torres agrees to move to Atletico Madrid in exchange for him, his operation would be nearly impossible.
