FC Barcelona continue to avail whatever opportunities are sent their way in terms of possible transfer operations that would allow them to offload players that are considered surplus to both sporting and economic requirements.
The loan move of many has now turned into a case of permanently offloading them. French defenders Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet were faced with this reality not too long ago.
However, there are also players that are young and still promising, yet Barcelona are unable to offer them the minutes and freedom to grow as they would under ideal circumstances. As a result, a loan move best suits their own trajectory.
The same logic has been applied to Mexican right-back Julian Araujo, who is currently not in the plans of Xavi Hernandez for the upcoming season and as a result, is being negotiated for by multiple clubs to be taken away as a loan signing.
The club most advanced in proceedings is Spanish club Las Palmas, who have been in constant contact with Barcelona over his signing yet have not been able to get the final green light from the 21-year-old player just yet.
Now, while Garcia Pimienta and his Las Palmas side await the player’s confirmation, new suitors have entered proceedings. As per Spanish outlet SPORT, CA Osasuna are now among those heavily interested in the player.
Moreover, clubs from across Europe have begun to show a liking towards the Mexican fullback as they look to reinforce their respective flanks. Feyenoord from the Netherlands and Porto from Portugal are some of the other clubs knocking to find out more about a possible deal.
Barcelona remain steadfast in their proceedings, however, given that they need to get departures over the line and this one in particular seems as close to happening as any. The Catalans will continue to negotiate and come to whatever agreement seems best, but the final verdict remains in the hands of the player.
