With the footballing standards shared by FC Barcelona and other elite Europe sides, it is no secret that to compete at the very top of the European pedestal not everyone will end up making the cut as a professional.
It is not a lapse in their judgments or possibly not even their dedication to their craft, various scenarios may just occur where certain players do not end up receiving the game time or importance at a particular club.
Elite talents that have flourished elsewhere do not always flourish where they had originally hoped to have done so. Such is the case quite commonly in fact with clubs like FC Barcelona, where the talent pool is typically much too diverse and qualified for everyone to have an equal opportunity.
The most recent of players to have to face the blunt of their reality is La Masia product Alex Collado, who at one point in time was thought to be one of the future pillars of the club.
As has been highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the left-footed winger and attacking midfielder who arrived at FC Barcelona in 2010 is set to depart on possibly a new venture from here on out, potentially in Turkey.
Having arrived following the conclusion of his latest loan with Elche, which turned out to be his second consecutive loan spell after having played the second half of the 2021/2022 season with Granada as well, the player now just has one year left on his contract until 2024.
The player has reportedly now attracted interest from two particular clubs in Turkey, as per MD, with the sides in question being Turkish giants Besiktas and up-and-coming outfit Antalyaspor, both of whom are willing to take him away.
From recent emerging reports coupled with this interest, Barcelona may just end up terminating the contract of the 24-year-old La Masia product, and letting him negotiate a better contract for himself with his new club, while the club themselves save expenses on other fronts such as wages.
