This is going to be a highly exciting day for Barcelona fans as their team is set to face its traditional rivals, Real Madrid, in a top-of-the-table league clash tonight.
The Blaugranes will definitely be looking to break the trend of not winning any of the last four El Clasicos. And with the form they have shown since the start of the season, they will be particularly encouraged to do that.
However, such a high-pressure match will still be a test for some of the less experienced players. One such player will be Pau Cubarsi, who has been a regular starter for Flick this season, but who will be playing only his second El Clasico tonight.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, ahead of this game, he was involved in a game proposed by La Liga, in which he had to rank the five best goals scored by Barcelona against Real Madrid.
The first goal he was shown was Messi’s, scored directly from a free-kick, and Cubarsi ranked it third. At the second spot, he placed Carles Puyol’s, his declared idol, headed goal in the 6-2 rout of the Merengues.
He ranked Iniesta’s goal, assisted by Neymar, in the 4-0 win at the Bernabeu during Luis Enrique’s time at the fourth place.
At this point, the defender had only two spots left, the first and the last. The next goal he was shown was that of Ronaldinho, in which he twisted and turned to score a great goal and take the scoreline to 3-0, after which he was applauded even by the Real Madrid fans. Cubarsi ranked this goal at 5th position.
For the first position, he was expecting to see Messi’s goal right at the end of the match, which allowed the Blaugranes to get a 3-2 win, and which was celebrated by showing his shirt to the Real Madrid fans. This was exactly the goal that he was shown, and Cubarsi placed it in the first position.
