FC Barcelona continues to have some of the most talented players in the world representing the club. Despite their financial difficulties and limitations, their aspirations remain as big as ever. Fortunately for them, either through smart spending or sheer luck, Barcelona still have a very competitive team.
Moreover, with the introduction of Hansi Flick into the mix, it becomes increasingly more evident that this team is ready to face big challenges. However, beyond just the most obvious starters and key first team players, even the players fighting for an opportunity add quality and depth to the team.
One such player from among those ranks of players is 22-year-old Spanish forward Pau Victor. Having joined the Catalan giants this summer, following his own frustrations at former side Girona, the player has now managed to become a regular member of the first team squad and even impressed Hansi Flick during the preseason.
However, he has not been the only name doing the impressing at Barcelona. In fact, even the forward himself has been surprised by another fellow Spaniard and club teammate, as highlighted by SPORT, and he revealed the player’s name as the one teammate who has caught his attention the most:
“Dani Olmo… He’s been very surprising, with spectacular quality. He has great game vision, calmness, the ability to get past opponents, a good strike, and a knack for scoring.“
Similar to Victor, Dani Olmo was another acquisition that Barcelona made in the summer as their big blockbuster signing of the transfer window. However, Olmo was not the only player who received praise from Pau Victor, as both Pedri and Raphinha were praised as well, with the former Girona forward even saying that the latter really helps out the youngsters of the team:
“(Raphinha) helps the young players a lot.”
He also made sure to point out Inigo Martinez as another player who stood out to him, even noting that he realizes that highlighting defenders like this is not exactly a common occurrence:
“It’s not common to highlight a central defender, but he’s solid, good with the ball, and fast.”
Now a full-fledged member of the Barcelona first team, Pau Victor’s new contract sees him be contracted to La Blaugrana until 2029. Being more than happy about joining the club, it seems that he is willing to give it his all to continue impressing and make a name for himself moving forward.
