Pedri picks €180m Man City player as the rival he’d want as a teammate

Several FC Barcelona players are currently away from the club on international duties. As these players train with the national teams to play in the matches scheduled for this international break, their national media gets the chance to interact with them and get them more acquainted with the fans in their own countries.

Recently, this has been the case with the Blaugrana midfielder Pedri, who appeared in an interview with Mundo Deportivo. He talked about different aspects of his life at the Catalan club, praising two of his teammates, Dani Olmo and Raphinha, in particular.

Another part of this interview involved a brief personal test, in which the midfielder was asked some questions about his personal preferences. There were some interesting replies from the Canarian in this segment.

One of the questions put to him was to name a player from a rival team that he would like to see in his own team. For this honor, Pedri picked the Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland.

There could have been many other candidates for this answer, but Haaland makes a lot of sense in this regard. The €180m-rated Norwegian striker is one of the best players in his position and has consistently put up good scoring numbers in one of the toughest leagues in the world, i.e., the Premier League.

A midfielder who excels in creating chances will definitely love to have such a striker playing in front of him. If they actually get to play together at some point in the future, there is no doubt that they will have defenses shaking with fear with their highly compatible profiles.

However, as things stand, there is little chance of them playing together at Barcelona. The Catalans have serious economic problems that significantly limit their options in the transfer market, and unless they solve these problems, signing players like Haaland, will remain highly complicated for them.
