Pedri talks his ambitions, the coach, and his teammates

Pedri spoke about being the leader of the team, Xavi, Gavi, Pablo Torre, Ansu Fati, Lewandowski, Rpahinha, Kounde, Dembele, Ferran Torres, his missed chances against Bayern, and winning the Ballon d’Or one day in his recent interview.

Pedri’s Interview

Pedri on playing under Xavi:

“It’s crazy that he’s with us, he’s so contributing and knows what he wants. The football I saw when I was a kid, which he did with Barcelona. It’s great that he’s with us.”

Pedri on his injury last season:

“When you get injured you think about many things, about the reason why you got injured, about what you can do to improve. I’ve changed things in my daily work, things inside and outside my job as a footballer. I work a lot on my physical shape, I still need to improve, but little by little I’m achieving my goals.”

Pedri on being the leader of the team:

“I don’t consider myself a leader. I am a person who works day after day to fulfill his responsibilities. My thinking is calm and I try to enjoy football because in the end football is a game, as long as you enjoy it you will improve.”

Pedri on his missed chances against Bayern:

“Against Bayern Munich, I missed two easy chances, right now I’m working to score the next two chances and not repeat something like that.”

Pedri on winning the Ballon d’Or:

“I hope to win it one day, it’s a very complicated award and you have to be the best to win, I still have a lot to learn and improve before such a day comes.”

Pedri on Pablo Torre:

“With Pablo Torre, I have a very good relationship. At first, we didn’t talk much, but I texted him that he should be happy and know that I’m here for whatever he needed. He has a lot of quality and I hope he will contribute a lot.”

Pedri on Ansu Fati:

“Ansu Fati is back from a long and difficult injury. When you don’t play for a long time, you have doubts. I told him a lot, keep calm and keep working and in time you will prove to everyone that you are a big star.”

Pedri on Gavi:

“Gavi has a huge potential to be with us for many years to come.”

Pedri on Lewandowski:

“He’s insane, he brings a lot. He’s a machine. It’s sensational to work with him, he helps the youngsters, those who are coming in now or those who have been with us for more years.”

Pedri on Raphinha:

“Raphinha has really surprised me, he works a lot for the team. He’s always running, battling to rob the ball back.”

Pedri on Kounde:

“Kounde with Sevilla played very well, a defender I liked very much. We know his potential and how he can contribute to the club.”

Pedri on Kessie:

“Kessie is wild on the pitch. When he Clashes with opponents, they fly three meters, like I said, in training, I prefer to not be against him.”

Pedri on Christensen:

“Christensen is very good on the ball. He is also tall, which can help him win balls in both boxes.”

Pedri on Ferran Torres:

“People talk about him a lot. Ferran has a lot of confidence, he plays very well and trains hard. His qualities are spectacular. He gives us a lot.”

Pedri on Dembele:

“Dembele is always laughing, bringing happiness to the team. With him, we found out on the same day that he had become a father.”

Pedri on the situation of Vinicius:

“It’s none of my business, everyone is free to do what they want as long as they don’t disrespect others. I dedicate my celebration to my father. Everyone can celebrate as they want to celebrate.”
