One player who has been on the radar of FC Barcelona for some time now is Manchester City ace, Bernardo Silva. The midfielder was previously rumored with a move away from the Etihad, with the Catalan club interested, but he stayed in England and continues to have a brilliant campaign under Guardiola’s orders, but now, the City coach hinted at uncertainty about his future.
Silva arrived at Manchester in the summer of 2017 from AS Monaco, and justifying his €50 million transfer fee, he grew into one of Guardiola’s most important players ever since.
The Portuguese star has won 12 titles since joining the Sky Blues, including 5 Premier League titles and 4 English League Cups, and is now on the verge of winning the second treble in the history of English football.
Recently, in the press conference held ahead of the FA Cup final, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola spoke about Silva and expressed his wish to see the midfielder continue at the English club, but claimed that he has doubts about the player’s future at the English champions amidst interest from FC Barcelona and PSG.
He still has two games ahead, the FA Cup and the Champions League. I hope he doesn’t leave. I hope he doesn’t leave, but I don’t know.
Silva, who had a phenomenal tie against Real Madrid in the Champions League, has played more than 50 games for the Mancunian outfit this season and stacked up 13 goal contributions across all competitions. Although still having a contract with City until 2025, he has several suitors tempting him with a way out.
The Portuguese superstar has thus far played a phenomenal campaign this year and the interest from FC Barcelona and PSG at the moment is not the first of its kind.
Having followed his development within Manchester City for some time now, all that remains to be seen is if the Catalan side will have to go through another transfer window without having acquired his services or will they somehow entice the player enough to see him wear the Blaugrana colors next season.
