One of the more high-profile signings for FC Barcelona this summer, Joao Felix, has started his Barcelona career with a bang. The young forward arrived at the club only on the deadline day of the summer transfer window but did not need long to find his feet with his new club.
This was apparent to everyone as Felix made his starting debut for Barcelona in the last match against Real Betis. In this match, the forward scored a goal himself while also setting up another goal for Lewandowski with a clever duck that allowed the Pole to finish the chance.
Felix shares his success on social media
As is natural with any player of Felix’s talent and fan following, his performances with Barcelona are being closely judged by both critics and advocates alike. However, after the last match, it was his admirers who got the better of the narrative on social media.
As SPORT has noted, Felix posted a few pictures of himself from the match, along with the caption: “Very happy with the home debut. Let’s go for more.” This social media activity was liked by the fullback Alejandro Grimaldo, who has graduated from La Masia and is currently playing with Bayer Leverkusen.
Sporting de Portugal midfielder Pedro Goncalves was another high-profile individual who celebrated Felix’s successful debut with the comment: “This doesn’t stop now.”
Hugo forecasts more surprises
However, the individual who would have been the most happy with Felix’s performance and who shared this happiness on social media was his younger brother, Hugo, who plays for Benfica’s reserve team. Hugo wrote: “This is just the beginning; they aren’t even prepared.”
Thus, Felix made everyone close to him proud with his impressive performance in the match against Betis. He was also declared as the MVP for the match, and hopefully, he can build on this outing to further impress Xavi and Cules, and get an important role in the squad.
