FC Barcelona are set to take on Sevilla in their final game of the 2023/2024 season. La Blaugrana get to finally conclude their rather disappointing season with one final outing. Set to take on Quique Sanchez’s team from Seville, Xavi’s Barcelona will hope for one final grand stand.

Beyond this game simply just being Barça’s last of the season, it will also be the very last time Xavi Hernandez steps onto the field to coach his beloved club. With the coach set to manage his final Barcelona game, his players will hope to make it a good ending.

Here is how Xavi’s Barcelona could line up for their final game of the season.

Goalkeeper: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen

Barely missing out on the Zamora, the German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will look to lead the team as captain for Xavi’s final game. His ability to thwart the opponent’s offensive plays and also play out effortlessly from the back could prove to be a key asset for Barcelona.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

The Frenchman remains one of Barça’s most outstanding assets in both defense and offense. His ability to help out his fellow defenders from any position in the back line remains an undoubtedly important component of his gameplay, and his quality remains commendable across any of those positions.

Centre-back: Ronald Araujo

Despite not starting in recent games, Ronald Araujo played a sizeable chunk of the last game against Rayo Vallecano. To give some rest to Pau Cubarsi, it would not be a bad idea to give the Uruguayan defender a start this time around against Sevilla.

Centre-back: Inigo Martinez

The veteran Spanish defender has been a strong addition to the team in recent starting lineups, and all three of the last three games that he has started have ended in clean sheets for Barcelona, and it would be best for the coaches to let him continue this fine form of his.

Left-back: Joao Cancelo

Using his creativity as a major attacking outlet, Barcelona could look to make things difficult for Sevilla. However, his defensive vulnerabilities will also need to be kept a check on to avoid any dangerous counterattacks from the opposition.

CDM: Andreas Christensen

Without Andreas Christensen to act as the pivot for Barcelona, the team often struggles. Unable to keep their shape as regularly otherwise, the Dane’s inclusion always tends to provide both quality and stability to the team.

CM: Fermin Lopez

Among the best breakout starlets of the season, Fermin Lopez has given a new dynamic edge to Barça’s play. More than just being a direct and aggressive pressing machine, Lopez also offers goals, and a lot of them. His tendency to always run at opposition defenders and make line-breaking runs has given him a lot of great goalscoring opportunities this season.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan

The German midfielder will not have been fully satisfied with his first season in Barcelona. However, he was still an incredible addition when it comes to his individual performances, and he will look to end his first season as a Blaugrana on a positive note.

Right-winger: Lamine Yamal

In his breakout season, 16-year-old Lamine Yamal has taken over the footballing world by storm. The young and prodigious La Masia talent has become a mainstay in Barcelona, and his inclusion always seems to be a certainty these days.

Centre-forward: Robert Lewandowski

Another Barcelona player who arguably underperformed as per his regular standards, the least Robert Lewandowski will be hoping to do is make an impact in his final game under Xavi Hernandez before Hansi Flick comes around to play his own brand of football.

Left-winger: Raphinha

The Brazilian winger has definitely improved in the second half of the season, and that run of good form continues to boost his confidence. His inclusion, based on merit at least, should be a guarantee in the starting lineup.
