Premier League Club Interested in Barcelona Starlet

Barcelona loanee Abde Ezzalzouli

Currently, on loan at Osasuna, Abde Ezzalzouli is one of the FC Barcelona players whom the club expects to develop significantly in the coming years. However, this development may not just happen at the Catalan club, and Nottingham Forest have arisen as one of the options that Abde can join this summer transfer window.

Still only 21 years old, Abde is having a memorable season on loan at Osasuna. Having broken out at FC Barcelona in the last season, Morocco-born forward has made a place in the Pamplona-based club despite competition from more mature players. He showed his importance for the Osusuna squad once again in the last League match when he scored the decisive goal against Sevilla.

However, despite the potential he has shown, the future is still uncertain for Abde. His loan contract with Osasuna does not have a purchase option, and he will be back with FC Barcelona once this loan term ends. That time will be critical for the player, as a decision regarding his next destination would be made by the player’s entourage and the club. A sale is not ruled out for now, but he can also remain with the Barcelona squad if there is enough space for him.

According to Matteo Moretto from Relevo, the player intends to remain at Barcelona in the long term. However, if the club is unable to provide him with an important role in the squad, he can be sold to other clubs. Finding such destinations is not expected to be a problem, as he has already generated interest from the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest having shown the most interest till now.

Despite this uncertainty, Abde is entirely focused on Osasuna’s campaign. The player wants to make his mark at the club by going to the very end in the Copa del Rey, whose semi-finals he has already reached.

If Osasuna are able to win this semi-final tie against Athletic Club, there is a possibility that the final will see Abde’s current and parent club face off for the ultimate prize. However, Abde himself will not be able to play in such a final because of a fear clause in his contract.
