FC Barcelona remain a club that is still unsure of itself when it comes to the depth they have in certain positions. While many areas such as the defense and attack need certain reinforcements, there is arguably no bigger void in the team than the one in the pivot position.

For La Blaugrana, Oriol Romeu arrived in the summer as a low-cost option for the short term. However, Barcelona now turn towards the future and plan for up ahead. Many young talents such as Arthur Vermeeren, Gabriel Moscardo, and Mats Wieffer are being studied as potential targets.

However, despite their obvious economic limitations, Barcelona hope to assess every option that is there to check. This includes footballers that, on the face of things, seem impossible for Barcelona to lure away due to the financial extremes of such operations.

One such operation is undoubtedly that of Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United. Aged 26 now, the Brazilian defensive midfielder is seen as one of the very best in his position not just in the English Premier League but across Europe.

As Mundo Deportivo highlights, the player has become rather renowned for his ability to maneuver the ball for his team. His technical strength is complimented by his physical one. Able to overpower and outmaneuver his opponents, he allows the rest of his team to operate much more freely.

Moreover, with a height reaching up to 1.82 meters, he is no slouch aerially either. His preference remains for the ball to remain grounded, however, as it allows him to utilize his best qualities.

For Barcelona, he remains an attractive but quite expensive option to reinforce their pivot position. He would undoubtedly bring both quality and experience of the top level, but the financial aspect is still something Barcelona will have to figure out first and foremost.
