FC Barcelona are set to pursue a plethora of talents over the course of the summer window. Among those talents is an Argentine superstar that goes by the name of Lionel Messi, who just so happens to currently be contracted at the French club Paris Saint-Germain.
With it looking quite likely that the Argentina World Cup winner is set to depart the French club, the Parisians are already looking for a befitting replacement.
According to a report by Diario AS, the likely candidate to replace Barcelona target Leo Messi at PSG is none other than Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. Those at PSG, and in particular Luis Campos, current Sports director at the club, believe him to be the ideal replacement.
A long-time target of Barca’s as well, Silva is enjoying quite the season under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Nearing the end of the campaign, the Citizens are challenging for a treble that includes the UEFA Champions League, the English Premier League, and the FA Cup.
Having already experienced the quality of Bernardo Silva during his time at Monaco while Luis Campos himself was employed there, he is already a first-hand witness of the unreal combination between the Portuguese midfielder and PSG forward Kylian Mbappe, something that could be rekindled again should they manage to bring the player to France.
While PSG continues to dream, Barcelona also remain an interested party in Bernardo Silva despite their economic struggles.
The recent La Liga winners are sparing no chances to agree on the best possible conditions for the players that they want and courtesy of their historic pedigree, they continue to possess something that money can simply not rival.
