The soap opera currently going on within the walls of FC Barcelona is one that involves French winger Ousmane Dembele and his previously imminent departure to Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain that has still not found its conclusion.
Originally, the unforeseen departure of Dembele was set to take place after the player had a private clause activated which would see him leave FC Barcelona following the payment of his €50 million release clause.
However, complications have arisen between the camp of the Frenchman and FC Barcelona as the Catalans believe certain requirements within the activation of the private clause were not met and hence its distribution being split in half between both parties mentioned becomes an invalid possibility.
Due to this ongoing saga, French outfit PSG grow more and more impatient as reported by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo. As a consequence, the Parisians have set a 24-hour deadline after which they would be willing to let go of Dembele this summer and take him away as a free agent next year.
Despite the strong stance of Barcelona on this matter, several important figures within the Catalan club have reportedly urged the concerned parties to get this deal done as quickly as possible so that the €50 million release clause is paid at the very least rather than lose the player on a free next season.
With the 26-year-old winger already in France having completed his medicals, his departure is currently stalled due to these complications having arisen between Barcelona and the camp of the French player.
The current priority for FC Barcelona lies within registering their unregistered stars within the team before the official start of their La Liga season against Getafe not too far away, and for these registrations to be possible the Catalan giants need the funds generated from the departure of the French.
