It is no secret that the sheer quality and quantity of youngsters that FC Barcelona possesses is enviable for other clubs. La Masia continues to produce elite talents and La Blaugrana continue to sign some of the world’s best emerging talents as well. This effective formula of acquiring young talents is something that truly sets Barcelona apart.

However, one downside of this formula is that too many young talents end up being left without a starting place within the team no matter how promising they look to be. Due to this, it can be easy for young players to get desperate for opportunities at Barcelona and end up pursuing them elsewhere in an attempt to find consistency.

For Fermin Lopez, that could very well have been the case had he not managed to impress Xavi Hernandez during a very special preseason for him. However, even now, Lopez remains a player who mainly serves as a great rotational option for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona but is still not a regular guaranteed starter by any means.

Seeing this as a good opportunity, as highlighted by Fichajes, three major European teams are now keeping Fermin Lopez on their watchlist as a player that they would like to sign. These three teams reportedly happen to be Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as French outfit Paris Saint-Germain.

In the case of Arsenal, the report suggests that Mikel Arteta sees Fermin Lopez as a potential signing that could unlock a new attacking avenue for his team. The €50 million-rated midfielder’s ability to make darting runs into the box could end up being just the kind of unique profile that Arsenal needs to become even more dangerous in attack.

Similarly, Fichajes reports that Liverpool would be keen on signing the La Masia talent as well to act as a complementary addition to their midfield. With a mix of control and explosiveness, Arne Slot’s team could unlock new dimensions for themselves both in possession and without it if Lopez becomes a part of the equation.

Lastly, Luis Enrique and PSG want to develop and build a midfield full of young and dynamic profiles. Fermin Lopez, given the kind of player he is, fits the bill perfectly for a midfield core that is based on that particular philosophy.

For Barcelona, however, only an offer that exceeds the €80 million mark would be good enough for them to consider selling the young midfielder. Following his impressive season in the previous campaign, along with his instrumental performances for Spain in the Paris Olympics, a tournament in which he helped his country win Gold, it makes sense why the player is attracting so much attention.
