The football world often sees massive ripple effects, and Barcelona are no strangers to this. One major transfer can lead to the activation of a lot of others, and it can be a rather polarizing domino effect. Even when Barcelona have been involved in mega moves, they have almost always had repercussions.

For instance, the transfer of Neymar Jr to French side PSG unsettled more than just a few individuals. A complete change in the dynamics and valuations of the transfer market followed, and PSG have since been known to be an extreme spender while Barcelona arguably notoriously mismanaged the funds from the Neymar transfer.

Speaking of PSG, however, it seems that bad news is now upon the French team. As per several trusted reports, the Parisian outfit is set to lose their star player Kylian Mbappe for free in the summer of 2024. With his contract eventually going to expire by then, he is free to choose his next destination it seems.

However, PSG do not intend to just sit idly as their star forward is lost. As such, according to SPORT, the French champions already know the names they want to invest big on. One of those names, alongside the likes of Bernardo Silva and Bruno Guimaraes, is that of Barcelona wonderkid Gavi.

The tenacious young midfielder is currently recovering from an ACL injury, and is set to miss the rest of the season. PSG, on the other hand, would want to ideally make a move as early as possible. With a speculated budget of €200 million, it would be nearly impossible to entice a player away from PSG for money.

Yet, Gavi’s case is one that no amount of money could tear him away from Barcelona. The youngster is regarded as one of the most promising talents in the world of football, and his importance to Barça is unquestionable. Only in his absence is his true value now being realized.
